Kinero Cellars, Alice, 2018

£31.00

Paso Robles, in California, is renowned for BIG Red Rhone wines. With scorching temperatures and thanks to a major daily diurnal shift (high temps to low), the cool evenings mean solid hang-times and bountiful fruity flavours.

You’ll often find wines here with 16% on the back label. hugely popular with the US market, wine clubs abound. 100pt scores are often forthcoming.

Step up one of the regions young stars. At just 24 yrs of age, he became head winemaker at renowned, Denner Vineyards. Able to pursue his own side projects. Kinero was born only a few years ago, mostly to prove his father wrong, that white wine is not ‘just plonk’ and good whites, fresh, elegant, moderate in alcohol and of place, have the potential to be crafted in Paso.

With the right vineyards, and major artistry in the cellar, Anthony has made some of the regions most spellbinding and intriguing wines. Produced in tiny amounts, we’re fortunate to have the opportunity to bring a handful of cases to the UK.

Fresh and zesty, big mineral licks with floral and white pepper, lemon, pear, peach. Bruised apples, touch of honey. Lovely notes of citrus, tangerine, cool, fresh and breezy.

Aperitif or perfect with lemon sole.
